아르네 보더는 미드 센츄리 스칸디나비안 디자이너중 가장 영향력이 큰 디자이너 중 한 명이자 건축가였다. 핀 율의 제자였던 아르네 보더는 저명한 가구 회사인 Fritz Hansen, France & Søn 이나 Sibast등의 가구를 디자인하며 디자이너로서의 커리어를 시작하였는데, 특히 Sibast사를 위해 디자인한 여러 시리즈의 가구들이 그에게 세계적인 명성과 성공을 가져다 주었다. 자연적인 재료에서 영감을 받은 그의 아름다운 디자인은 세련된 유기적 디테일과 품격이 돋보이며, 그 당시에 유행했던 로즈우드와 티크를 주로 사용하되 종종 다채로운 색상의 패널을 종종 같이 접목하여 사람들의 시선을 잡아 끌었다. 보더의 다자인 중 1950-60년대 Sibast사에서 제작한 로즈우드나 티크 소재의 사이드보드들이 현재도 가장 널리 사랑 받고 있으며, 20세기의 하이-엔드 디자인 제품 경매에서도 종종 찾아볼 수 있는데, 특히 희소성이 있는 제품들은 엄청난 고가를 기록하기도 한다.
Arne Vodder is one of the designers that affected the design industry in the mid-century Scandinavian and also worked as an architect. He was Fin Jul’s disciple and designed for Dritz Hansen, France & Søn, Sibast e.t.c. and built his career. Several designs that he did for Sibast especially helped him gain his world fame and success. His designs motivated from natural materials reveals refined organic details and dignity. He used Rosewood and Teak wood that was the trend during that time, and also often used variety colors of panels that caught the eye of the people. Vodder’s designs of sideboards from Sibast that were done in 1950-1960s that were made with Rosewood and Teak wood are still loved by people and also could be found in the high-end auction. Some of his products with scarcity recorded high price.
